John L. Holland's Career Theory

According to John Holland's career theory, people who align their work environment and career choice with their personality traits are more likely to succeed in life. As Mohn (2024) mentions, "Holland eventually developed a method of testing to help people determine which personality types best described their vocational identities. Holland developed a test whose results gave participants the two or three personality types that best characterized them based on their answers to the tests."

As you explore further, you will be able to navigate to Holland's personality-based test and other assessments you can try out. Utilizing this theory will help us professionals build conversations with the students and integrate this approach as a decision-making tool. We like to assure you that our purpose is not to determine your set career but to expand the endless possibilities of what you might want to pursue in life.
